Corduroy is a durable fabric that is similar to Cavalry twill. Because of its durability, this material is often used in jackets, pants, and coasts. Some manufacturers even use corduroy for other types of apparel, such as dresses and tops.

The most important aspect of corduroy fabric is its sturdiness. The pile should be tight and the filler yarns should meet at right angles. To test for tightness, rub the fabric right side down and examine the ridges.

You can check the quality of corduroy by looking at its pile. The ridges should be tightly woven and the selvages should be perfectly aligned. You can see if the ridges are visible or not by rubbing the fabric with the right side together.
